Variable
Resistor. This element
adds resistance to current flow in circuits. Place
up to ten variable resistors in the simulation
window. With the Select
tool, you can move and rotate
variable resistors, and wire
them to other objects. You attach wires to the
variable resistor's two
nodes,
which are indicated by the
yellow
rectangles in Figures
1 and 2.

The default resistance of
the variable resistor is 100 ohms. You can change
this resistance in one of two ways. In the variable
resistor's Properties
Box, you can set the
resistance between 1.0 and
100,000 ohms. You can also change the resistance
manually in either Run
mode or Stop
mode.
To change the resistance manually,
click
on the
hotspot
indicated in Figures 3 (Realistic
mode) and 4 (Schematic
mode). To decrease
resistance, drag the hotspot clockwise (Figure
5). To increase resistance, drag it
counterclockwise (Figure 6). Dragging the
hotspot around 360º changes resistance by 360
ohms.
