Ammeter. This element measures currents. Place up to three ammeters in the simulation window. With the Select tool, you can move ammeters and wire them to other objects. You attach wires to the ammeter's two nodes, which are located on the two terminals sticking out of the sides of the ammeter. This element has an alternative view.

The figure below illustrates how to use an ammeter. Always place the ammeter directly in the path of current flow. Never connect the ammeter's leads to two sides of a potential difference. The ammeter has a minute internal resistance and can only handle tiny potential differences. Voltages that are too large cause the ammeter to blow its fuse.

In the Properties Box of the ammeter, you can change the scale of its display: milliamps, amps, or tens of amps. You can also change the scale mode, that is, the size of the ammeter. Default is normal mode; the option max mode gives you a larger ammeter.
