The Duck River watershed annotated bibliography will teach you about the water quality, biological characteristics, culture, and history of the fascinating Duck River region.  Scientific information, water quality data, and historical and cultural facts were combined in this program to provide an understanding of the environmental and historical significance of the Duck River watershed.

Within the topics in this bibliography, you can analyze water quality data or read field reports from Civil War generals.  You might even learn interesting facts, like that Minnie Pearl was born in the Duck River region or that Mule Day--a tradition that began in 1840--is still being held today in Columbia, Tennessee.

The Duck River watershed annotated bibliography was created with a grant from the Tennessee Duck River Development Agency.  Dennis George, environmental engineer and director of the Center for the Management, Utilization, and Protection of Water Resources, led the Tennessee Technological University project team--which included Michael Birdwell, historian; Yvette Clark, research and development engineer and geographic information system specialist;  Amy Knox, editor and graphic designer.
