Bowen, William R.  Based on archaeological research in the upper Duck River valley, the author questions the use of certain settlement/subsistence models for the Late Archaic era in that region, and he suggests a new model that would be more applicable to the Late Archaic Ledbetter phase of the upper Duck valley.
