: This button opens a separate window that contains the Image Palette Applet. The Image Palette is a unique CIPS applet. It simply displays thumbnail pictures of image files. By default, the Image applet shows all images located in the same folder as the HTML page with the Image applet (in this tutorial, that folder is the folder images inside the help folder).

You can use the Image Palette to paste images from image files into CIPS simulators and other Java software. The instructions below tell you how to do this.

  1. In a separate window, open the Image Palette.
  2. To copy one of these images onto the CIPS Java Clipboard, select the thumbnail (the small, button-like picture) corresponding to the desired image. For example, to copy the picture of number 8, click on the thumbnail image of number 8.
  3. Return to the simulator in the frame above. Use the Paste button to place the image in the simulation window.

Adding images to the Image Palette: Place new image files in the folder used by the image palette. The image files must be in either GIF or JPEG (JPG) format. Also, if you click on the title bar containing the words Image Palette, you can load an image file from anywhere on your computer into the Image Palette.

Removing images: Remove the image files you don't want from the appropriate folder.

Specifying an images folder: If you do not want to put the images in the same folder as the HTML page with the image palette, specify a new folder by changing the parameter "ImageDir" in the HTML code for the Image Palette applet.
