Voltmeter. This element measures potential drops. Place up to three voltmeters in the simulation window. With the Select tool, you can move voltmeters and wire them to other objects. You attach wires to the voltmeter's two nodes, which are located on the two terminals sticking out of the sides of the voltmeter. The figure below illustrates how to use a voltmeter. Always connect the voltmeter's leads to two sides of a potential difference. Never place it directly in the path of current flow. The voltmeter has a huge internal resistance and can only handle minute currents. Currents that are too large cause the voltmeter to blow its fuse. ![]() In the Properties Box of the voltmeter, you can change the scale of its display: millivolts, volts, or tens of volts. |
