Approval of Agenda as Revised
Dr. Bailey requested the agenda be revised to add an announcement by Dean Armistead as item #3, moving all other items down one position.
Motion. Dr. Loutzenheiser moved to approve the agenda as revised. The motion was seconded by Dr. Wilson and carried.
Approval of October 24, 2002 Minutes as Corrected
A correction was made to the number credit hours in MIT 2000. The correct number of credit hours for MIT 2000 should read " 2."
Motion. Dr. Faw moved to approve the minutes as corrected. The motion was seconded by Dr. Elsawy and carried.
Announcement of Catalog Deadlines
Prof. Tolbert alerted the committee that changes for the new catalog will be needed at the April or September meetings. Final acceptance of changes will be no later than October 2003.
Announcement of March 20 Called Meeting Addressing the General Education Core Program
Dean Armistead stated at the March 20 meeting the general education sub-committee will present a recommendation of courses which will be considered as part of a state-wide core of general education programs. He asked permission to distribute a copy of the complete course list for the 61 courses being proposed and a list of courses proposed to the sub-committee but not being recommended.
The March 20 meeting will deal only with the general education core recommendations, with the exception of the Professional Communications curriculum, as a TBR requirement, which is being taken out as a major.
