Transfer Credit

All transcripts are evaluated by the Graduation Office staff.  To see if a course has previously been evaluated and awarded credit from another school, please check the link available on the transfer equivalency table page.

TTU has developed course equivalency tables with the 13 Tennessee Board of Regents Community Colleges and one private institution, Hiwasee. These tables assure that the courses as shown in the published equivalency tables are equivalent and meet the standards for transfers to TTU into the majors in the disciplines. Therefore, these agreements serve as the prior approval for students taking these courses during a summer term while a transient student from TTU. The "Request for Extension or In-Residence Study at Another Institution" (pdf) form is not required for these TBR community colleges but is required for all other schools. The equivalency tables are reviewed by the transfer coordinator and the departmental chairperson in the respective discipline yearly. If the course in question is a general education requirement, then the Faculty General Education Committee reviews the appropriate equivalencies. Please check with your advisor to find out if the transfer credit meets the requirements for your degree.

For transfer students who plan on visiting campus, we recommend that you bring copies of transcript(s) with you.
