SECRETARY 2 – University Development

QUALIFICATIONS:  High school diploma or equivalent required.  One (1) year of clerical or secretarial experience required.  Ability to type accurately and efficiently required.  Excellent communication and interpersonal skills required.  Knowledge of basic bookkeeping/accounting procedures required.  Proficiency in word processing, spreadsheet, and database operations required.  Ability to use business English and arithmetic required.  Ability to establish and maintain an effective professional working relationship with faculty, staff, students, alumni and the general public is required.  Ability to work independently with minimal supervision is required.  Experience in maintaining and handling confidential files required.  Bulk mail experience is desirable.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:  Provides direct support to the Director of Annual Programs. May oversee and coordinate the flow and check work of student workers.  Prepares reports as directed.  Develops and maintains financial, statistical and other important records as needed.  Receives monetary contributions and payments and transmits them for further processing after completing cash transmittal forms. Monitors and reconciles income and expenses for annual fund account.  Processes requisitions, interdepartmental transfer forms and orders supplies for annual programs.  Processes bulk mailings.  Proofreads forms and reports.  Establishes and maintains various systems and forms for major donor tracking and pledge collections. 

OTHER FUNCTIONS: Performs other duties as assigned.

SALARY AND BENEFITS:  $8.04 per hour, $15,670 annually.  Benefits include the initial accumulation of one vacation day per month and one sick leave day per month, and thirteen (13) university holidays.  Other benefits include medical and life insurance (shared cost with the university), retirement, optional 401K and educational benefits.
