This
is a 60%, part-time, grant-funded position.
Continuation beyond June 30, 2003, dependent upon grant renewal.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Required: Bachelor's degree.
Experience in professional child care or related areas.
Knowledge of child development, health and safety, child care
administration, developmentally appropriate behavior management, early childhood
education. Proficiency
in basic computer skills.
Valid Tennessee driver's license.
Competent communication skills and organizational and management skills.
Flexible schedule.
Preferred:
Training experience, early childhood or child development work
experience. Degree
in Child and Family studies, Early Childhood Education, Early Childhood Special
Education, Human Ecology, or related field.
ESSENTIAL
FUNCTIONS:
The person holding this position reports to the TTU Principal Investigator of
the TN-CCPT Project. The
following duties are performed:
Represent the TN-CCPT project at professional meetings and TN-CCPT
business meetings. Assist
with child care sustainability with the community, including networking with a
variety of community groups.
Organize the program activities, including recruiting individuals to
provide training to child care providers in the Upper Cumberland region.
Develop and present workshops to child care providers in the Upper
Cumberland region. Attend
Train-the Trainer Institutes.
Provide training in five topic areas (Administration, Health &
Safety, Child Development, Early Childhood Education, Developmentally
Appropriate Behavior Management) to child care providers in the Upper Cumberland
region.
OTHER
FUNCTIONS:
Performs other duties as required.
SALARY
AND BENEFITS:
Commensurate with qualifications and experience.
Vacation,
sick leave and holidays are prorated at 60%. Other benefits include retirement,
optional 401k and prorated educational benefits.
