QUALIFICATIONS:
B.S. degree required. Evidence
of good clerical as well as administrative and organizational skills.
Ability to follow regulations, meet deadlines, and tend to details.
Ability to comprehend and apply OVC and NCAA rules as they pertain to
athletic eligibility. Evidence of
good skills in Math, Science, and English.
Ability to tutor and provide academic assistance to students primarily in
Math and possibly in other college courses. Ability to establish and maintain cordial and effective
working relationships with students, coaches, and fellow staff members.
Experience with personal computers; experience with SIS preferred.
Ability to compose clear and understandable correspondence. Must have a positive attitude toward student-athletes.
Willingness to work some late afternoons and/or evenings if needed.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Under the direction of the Records Office in collaboration with the
Faculty Athletics Representative, this position is responsible for collecting,
compiling, analyzing, and distributing all data relevant to the certification of
all student-athletes. The position
is also responsible for communicating information pertinent to athletic
eligibility with coaches, athletes, administrators, and high school guidance
counselors. Under the direction of
the Athletic Academic Advisor, the position is responsible for assisting with
class schedules of student-athletes, responsible for tutoring individuals or
groups for student-athletes, gathering of data for eligibility, and running
grade reports from pre-existing focus reports.
In addition, may be responsible for other programs such as
CHAMPS/lifeskills. Other duties as
assigned by the Records Office in collaboration with the Faculty Athletics
Representative, or by the Academic Advisor.
SALARY AND BENEFITS:
Minimal starting salary is
$29,250. Commensurate with
education and experience.
Benefits include the accumulation of two vacation days
per month and one sick leave day per month, and thirteen (13) University
holidays. Other benefits include medical and life insurance (shared cost with
the university), retirement, optional 401k and educational benefits.
