Technology specialist Billy Sells says he was moved to nominate Homer Kemp, professor of English and interim chairperson of the English and Communications department, because Kemp was literally moved by a request from Sells.

"He generously swapped a larger area that he was using for [the Upper Cumberland Institute] grant for my smaller office," says Sells. "He made the sacrifice to better support the College of Arts and Sciences. I'm not only grateful for the space, but I'm also appreciative for his respect for what our Microsupport Office does."

Kemp joined the university in 1971.
