Tech supports CRMC's 'Giving Big' program

The University Service Center is supporting the Cookeville Regional Medical Center (CRMC) in its "Giving Big at CRMC" program this month. During the week of May 12, needed items for five local charities will be collected at the University Service Center, Roaden University Center, Room 108.

Five local organizations have identified needed items:

  • The Animal Shelter: Purina dry kitty and puppy food (this is quite specific due to the serious health conditions of these little ones by the time they get to the shelter; this brand carries the most nutrition). Bleach, liquid laundry detergent, liquid dish detergent, paper towels, gently used towels (normal bath size), gently used blankets (crib size), gently used scrubs and lab coats, postage stamps, gift cards from Lowe's, Wal-Mart or Tractor Supply.
  • Helping Hands of Putnam County: Tuna, canned fruit, mac 'n' cheese, Spaghetti O's, chili, soup, spaghetti sauce, household goods and personal items such as toilet paper, tissues, dish detergent, laundry detergent, shampoo, toothpaste, deodorant, large size baby diapers.
  • The Rescue Mission: Paper products, personal hygiene items (razors), diapers, baby or disinfectant wipes.
  • Crisis Pregnancy Center: Diapers, baby wipes, baby clothes up to 18 months. Anything that you need to care for a baby (baby beds, bassinets, etc.)
  • Genesis House: Big diapers, disposable thermometers, personal feminine products, disposable razors, hairbrushes.

Collection boxes will be located outside the University Service Center. Center staff will be involved in distributing the donated items to the local community organizations on May 16.

For more information contact the University Service Center at 6120 or e-mail tennis@tntech.edu.
