Lewis, GIDEON'S TRUMPET, 2nd Ed., NY: Vintage Books, 1989.
Tests and Grading
There will be three tests. The first and second test will each count 30% and the final exam 40% toward your grade in the course. The following grading scale will apply to all tests and in the computation of the final course grade.
A = 92 - 100
B = 83 - 91
C = 73 - 82
D = 65 - 72
F = 0 - 64
Attendance Policy
After each test, a curve will be established if class scores warrant such. To be on the curve, a student may have been absent from class no more than three (3) times for ANY reason -- "excused or unexcused" -- during the entire semester. Once the fourth cut is taken, for ANY reason, grades will be based on all original test scores, past and future. IF YOU COME LATE TO CLASS, it is YOUR responsibility to see me after class in order to record your presence.
Disabled Students
See the Director, Disability Service Office in the University Center, Room 112 during the first week of the semester for necessary arrangements.
