As Chair of the President’s Commission on the Status of Women, I am pleased that we brought Vanderbilt’s Dr. Alison Piepmeier to campus to present, “Living In Fear: Media Imagery and the Culture of Violence Against Women” at which several members of the community were present. She also presented her book “Catching a Wave: Reclaiming Feminism for the 21 st Century” with her co-author Rory Dicker on April 1,2004, and the public will be invited. A book signing will follow. |

Pi Sigma Alpha (for which I am the faculty sponsor) sponsored campus wide Veteran’s Day celebration at TTU with two local Veterans speaking on behalf of Veteran’s For Peace and a reception following; Also worked with Algood School to send several hundred cards from elementary students to the veterans at the York V.A. Hospital in Murfreesboro |
