SOC 1010 (Honors). - Introduction to Sociology: Fundamental concepts and basic principles underlying human social relations.

SOC 2900. Introduction to Sociological Research: Prerequisite: SOC 1010 and 3 hours of sociology or consent of instructor. Methods of sociological research including considerations of research design, strategies, techniques and procedures.

SOC 4080/5080. Sociology of Appalachia. Prerequisite: SOC 1010 or 1100 or consent of instructor. An exploration of the people, culture, and political economy of Appalachia.

SOC 4090/5090. Cross Cultural Communication/ Cultural Diversity Prerequisites: SOC 1010 or 1100or consent of instructor. An examination of the socio-cultural context of communication with emphasis upon enhancing communication skills across cultures.

SOC 4430/5430. People in Organizations. Prerequisite: SOC 1010 or 1100 or consent of instructor. Analysis of the structures and processes of large bureaucratic organizations, with emphasis on individuals'relationships for education.

SOC 4970/5970. Special Topics. Prerequisite: Consent of Instructor. Seminar or lecture course on a selected topic, issue or interest in sociology.
