The 2007 Annual Initiation and Awards Banquet was held April 19 in the Executive Lounge and Dining Room of the Roaden University Center. The presentation of two new members took place at 6:00 p. m. in the Executive Lounge. This was followed by a reception and banquet. Our visiting lecturer this year was Dr. Peter Cummings, the John R. Hall Professor of Chemical Engineering at Vanderbilt University and Principal Scientist in the Center of Nanophase Material Sciences at Oak Ridge National Laboratory. At the banquet, he gave a very interesting presentation entitled Nanoscience: The Ultimate Playground for Theorists?
