The 2005 Annual Initiation and Awards Banquet was held April 21 in the Executive Lounge and Dining Room of the Roaden University Center. The presentation of nine new members took place at 6:00 p. m. in the Executive Lounge. This was followed by a reception and banquet. Our visiting Sigma Xi Distinguished Lecturers this year were Drs. John Collier and Billie Collier, both of the University of Tennessee. At the banquet, the speakers gave a very interesting presentation on Making Scotch: Engineering, Chemistry, and Education. Earlier in the day, they presented a public lecture entitled, Lyocell Fiber: Solutions and Processing in the Room 342 of the Roaden University Center.
