"Severe Weather Awareness Week"

Spring is just around the corner and more crazy Tennessee weather with it! You know as well as I that you never know what to expect in spring—sunny one minute, rainy the next, etc.

In an effort to keep everyone safe and sound throughout the semester, we are having a week of Severe Weather Awareness here on campus. Starting on Feb. 19th, residence halls across campus will be having tornado drills, fire drills and the like in an attempt to educate everyone on how to be safe during an extreme situation. Recently, pamphlets regarding severe weather procedures were mailed to student’s campus wide. There are also extra pamphlets available in each staff office in each residence hall on campus.

You may want to double check with your son or daughter to make sure they understand where to go and what to do regardless of where they are on campus! We don’t get to choose when or where bad weather happens, all we can do is prepare.

If you have questions, comments, or an idea that you would like to see us expand upon in the next parent news letter, let us know! We really appreciate your input. You can email us at TTUNews@Gmail.com or NEPatton21@tntech.edu.
