COOKEVILLE, Tenn. (Aug. 21, 2009) — Now is the time to get out your fall calendar and pencil-in – Bacchanal: A Celebration of Art, Wine & Food for Sunday, Oct. 25, 1-5 p.m. hosted by Spankies Restaurant in Cookeville. The gala event is presented by Tennessee Tech University and the Appalachian Center for Craft in support of art student scholarships and arts programming at the university.
The Bacchanal, a popular regional event for more than 14 years, offers a broad selection of wine and specialty beer for tasting, a to-die-for cocktail buffet, live jazz, and, last but not least – the live auction of art and fine craft that begins at 2:30 p.m.
“Last year’s Bacchanal was the most successful in the history of the event,” said Ward Doubet, Craft Center Director and Bacchanal Committee Chair. “The growing response to the Bacchanal has included increased attendance, financial contributions, and the exquisite work donated for the auction – all in support of emerging young artists at TTU.”
“If you’ve yet to attend, or if the Bacchanal is a fall tradition, please join us for fine food, drink, live jazz and the best art auction of the year on Sunday, Oct. 25.”
The Bacchanal planning committee has been hard at work hammering-out the details for the 2009 event.
“Members of the Bacchanal committee generously donate their time, talent and creativity to the growth and success of the event,” said Jane Dudney Roberts, promotions and development manager at TTU’s Craft Center and Bacchanal coordinator. “I am so pleased to have the opportunity to work with such a great group of people representing the university, local businesses, and our community.”
Reservations are $40 per person in advance (until Friday, Oct. 23) and $45 per person at the door (there are no printed tickets for the event; reservations only).
