COOKEVILLE, Tenn. (April 30, 2008) — Two Tennessee Tech University student workers have been selected as “most valuable” in the university’s third annual Most Valuable Work Study and University Academic Scholarship Student contest, sponsored by TTU’s Financial Aid Office.

Channing Hatfield of Whitwell was named Most Valuable Work Study Student, and Edward D’Ovidio II of Hermitage was selected as Most Valuable University Academic Scholarship Student.

Hatfield, who works in TTU’s University Advancement Office, was a junior marketing major this year. She is the daughter of Lisa Hatfield and Sammy Myers. She was nominated for the honor by Debbie Nash.

Nearly 1,000 work study students this year helped support TTU’s administrative and academic offices.

D’Ovidio, who works in the university’s Athletics Office, was a junior accounting major at TTU this year. He is the son of Edward and Marilyn D’Ovidio and the husband of Alisha D’Ovidio. He was nominated by Sandy Zimmerman.

About 675 students have been assigned to a position on campus to fulfill the 75 service hours required for the prestigious University Academic Scholarship.
