Ceramics exhibition by Alice Sullivan on display at Craft Center through July 31

COOKEVILLE, Tenn. (June 26, 2007) – An exhibit of contemporary, figurative sculpture in ceramics by Alice Sullivan will be on display through July 31 in the Appalachian Center for Craft’s Gallery Two.

Sullivan’s sculptural artwork is a form of personal expression — a way for the artist to share part of herself — and it emphasizes a visual vocabulary with the viewer.

She handbuilds her figures with white earthenware, and the underglazes provide soft, muted colors.

The Craft Center, a satellite campus of Tennessee Tech University, is located approximately six miles from Interstate 40 at Exit 273 (Smithville/McMinnville). Go south toward Smithville on Highway 56 and turn left immediately after crossing Hurricane Bridge. This drive leads to the Craft Center.

For more information, call 615/597-6801 or 931/372-3051 or go online to www.tntech.edu/craftcenter/.
