COOKEVILLE, Tenn. (Nov. 21, 2003) -- At no other season of the year does
music communicate with as much warmth, beauty and enchantment as during
the holidays. The dinner theater-type event, which is black-tie optional, begins with
a cash-bar reception at 6:30 p.m., Sunday, Dec. 7, in the Holiday Inn
Ballroom. A traditional holiday dinner and the musical program begin at
7:30 p.m. Performers include the 50 singers of the TTU Concert Choir, the TTU Chorale,
and Brass Arts Quintet. Participants will be treated to acts by the three
ensembles, as well as solo and small group performances. Musicians and
singers are rehearsing a combination of holiday music, from popular secular
songs to classical pieces. Audience members will be invited to sing along
during the carols. Tickets are limited and assigned on a first-come, first-served basis.
Individual tickets are $40, and reservations should be made by calling
David Rhyne at 931-372-3650 or Candace Osteen at 931-372-3161 no later
than Tuesday, Dec. 2. A discounted rate of $320 for a table of eight is also available for
groups or companies who might want to incorporate the event into holiday
party plans. A vegetarian dinner option is available; please indicate
your preference when you call for reservations. Proceeds benefit Tennessee
Techs choral program.
