COOKEVILLE, Tenn. (July 23, 2002) Students interested in enrolling
at Tennessee Tech University for the first time this fall need to act
fast. Registration deadlines are nearing.
Entering freshmen and transfer students are encouraged to apply before
Aug. 1, including submitting transcripts and any other required information.
A registration day for new freshmen and transfer students is scheduled
for Aug. 15. Orientation programs begin that afternoon and offer new students
a fun and interactive overview of services, programs, activities and opportunities
across campus.
Returning students who have already pre-registered for classes have until
Wednesday, Aug. 7, to pay fees without losing their schedules. Registration
cannot be completed between Aug. 8 and 14.
Regular registration resumes on Friday, Aug. 16. Students can pay for
classes over the web, via the phone, or in person that day. Phone and
web payments will also be accepted over the weekend. Fall semester classes
begin Monday, Aug. 19. Late registration also begins on the 19th, and
students who register or pay fees between Aug. 19 and 27 will pay a late
fee of $100.
Enrollment at TTU reached an all-time high last fall with more than 8,600
students attending. Officials in the university's Admissions Office expect
an even larger enrollment this year thanks to the university's recent
ranking as one of the top 10 public universities in the South by U.S.
News & World Report's 2002 College Guide.
For more information on how to register or apply, contact the TTU Admissions
Office at 800-255-8881 or 931-372-3888.
