Provost / Vice President for Academic Affairs
Dr. Jack Armistead
The Vice President for Academic Affairs is the chief
academic officer directly responsible to the President for the
development, coordination, and implementation of curricula and
instruction at the University. Dr. Armistead serves as advisor
to the President on academic affairs and as spokesman for the faculty,
departmental chairpersons, and academic deans with regard to matters
concerning the instructional program, budget proposals, and academic
personnel policies.
Dr. Armistead administers the University's instructional,
research, and extension programs, the Graduate
School, the Library, Information
Technology Services, the Military
Science Program, and a number of other academic support
offices. He also serves as liaison with the TBR and THEC. The Vice
President plays a major role in the governance of the University
as appropriate.
The Associate Vice President for Academic Affairs,
the Associate Vice President for Research and Graduate Studies,
the Associate Vice President for Information Technology Services,
the Vice President for Student Affairs, the Academic Deans and
the Director of Institutional Research report to the Vice President
for Academic Affairs.
