Q - Who does NOT need to take the Pre-MBA Foundation Modules?

Generally, most students who have an undergraduate business degree from an AACSB-accredited college or university will be exempt from taking the Pre-MBA Foundation Modules. However, an evaluation of your transcript is still necessary.

Q - Who needs to take the Pre-MBA Foundation Modules?

Students who received an undergraduate business degree from a college or university that is not accredited by the AACSB will often need to take one or more of the Pre-MBA Foundation Modules.

Students who have an undergraduate degree in an area other than business (regardless of accreditation) will most likely need to take several of the Pre-MBA Foundation Modules. 

Q - How do I find out which Pre-MBA Foundation Modules I need to take?

We evaluate the transcript of every MBA applicant to determine which competency requirements, if any, the applicant needs to complete in order to be admitted to the MBA Program. You should follow these steps:

Obtain a copy of your undergraduate transcript. (For purposes of this review, we only require a copy of your transcript in the College of Business Administration. However, it is important to remember that the Office of Graduate Admissions requires an "OFFICIAL" copy of your transcript for purposes of your admission application). You can obtain a copy of your transcript from the registrar's office at your undergraduate institution. If you received your undergraduate degree from Tennessee Tech, you should indicate that in your cover letter and provide us with your Social Security Number so that we can access your transcript on the Student Information System.

Prepare a cover letter explaining your intention to apply to the MBA program and your request to have your transcript reviewed to determine which Pre-MBA Foundation Modules you need to take. The letter should clearly include your name, mailing address, phone number, e-mail address, and signature.

The Pre-MBA Foundation Modules cost $325 each. 

Q - How do I order my Pre-MBA Foundation Modules?

DO NOT ORDER ANY FOUNDATION MODULES UNTIL THE MBA OFFICE HAS EVALUATED YOUR TRANSCRIPT TO DETERMINE WHICH, IF ANY, FOUNDATION MODULES YOU WILL NEED!

Once it has been determined which Pre-MBA Foundation Modules you need to take, you can order your Modules by using our online Store. Visit our Marketplace Site at TTU. Click on MBA Studies Store.

A credit card is required to order these modules.

Q - When can I start my Pre-MBA Foundation Modules?

You may begin your Pre-MBA Foundation Modules at any time. Since they are self-study courses, you may complete them as quickly as you like, or take up to three years to complete each Module. Many undergraduate students choose to begin working on the Pre-MBA Foundation Modules even before their undergraduate commencement.

Q -What do I do when I am ready to take the Pre-MBA Foundation Module Exams?

When you are ready, you can use the Pre-MBA Foundation Module Exam Proctor Identification Form (.pdf), included with your Pre-MBA Foundation Module, to order your exam. This form must be mailed or faxed to us so that we can have your signature on the document. 

Q - My company will only reimburse me for non-credit courses if I receive Continuing Education Units (CEUs). Do the Pre-MBA Foundation Modules qualify for CEUs?

The Pre-MBA Foundation Modules qualify for CEUs. When you sign the Examination Certification Form (.pdf) (Also included in your Pre-MBA Foundation Module Examination Package.) check the box below your signature and we will process your CEU request. A certificate will be mailed to you.
