Frequently Asked
Questions Campus-Based Program Q - Do I have to start the program
in the Fall Semester?
While it is better to begin the program in the Fall Semester,
you may elect to start in the Spring Semester. Summer courses
are limited and it may be difficult to start during the summer.
We try to keep a schedule of classes as current as possible.
Q - Does it take longer to finish
the program if I elect a concentration?
If your undergraduate degree was in a different area than the MBA
track you choose, you may have to take some undergraduate courses
in your area of concentration. An advisor can tell you exactly what
you will have to take.
Q - When I try to complete the Online
Application, it asks for my PIN. What should I type?
Generally, the first time you begin an Online Application, you
will create your PIN. When you come back to the application
a second time, you will be queried for that PIN. If you have
forgotten your PIN, you can call the Graduate Admissions Office
at 931-372-3233. They will be happy to provide that PIN number
to you.
Q - I have lots of management experience,
do I still need to take the GMAT?
Yes. Ours is a general management MBA program and has not been structured
as an Executive or Professional MBA. Therefore, for accreditation
purposes, we cannot give GMAT credit for prior work experience.
Q - I took the GMAT several years
ago, do I have to take it again?
We require an "official" copy of your GMAT scores to
consider you for admission to the MBA program at Tennessee Tech.
GMAT only keeps those scores on file for five years. After that
time, they purge their files and you will be unable to get an "official"
copy of your scores from them. If however, we have an "official"
copy of your scores on file here at Tennessee Tech (perhaps from
an earlier application), we can use those old scores.
Q - I took the GRE, do I still need
to take the GMAT?
Even though there may be some similarities between the GRE and
the GMAT, the terms of our AACSB accreditation require that we use
the GMAT.
Q - Can I check my grades online?
Students may view and/or print a copy of semester grades from
the Eagle
Online Information System. TTU no longer routinely
mails out grade reports.
Q - When I tried to access Eagle
Online, it asked for my Student ID and my PIN. What are my
Student ID and my PIN?
Your Student ID is your Social Security Number. Your PIN
is a 6-digit code that allows you access to Eagle Online.
If you have forgotten your PIN, you can find instructions for obtaining
it at Eagle
Online.
The system will automatically e-mail your PIN to your TTU e-mail
address. You can access your TTU e-mail address by going to
www.tntech.edu and clicking on WebMail.
