Adding things like birth and death dates, middle names and initials, and titles such as Sir or Lady to differentiate between two authors with the same name.
Making cross-references for pseudonyms (Example: Samuel Clemens to the correct heading Mark Twain).
Making cross-references for subjects (Example: World War II to the correct heading World War, 1939-1945).
