Government Publications

Collection Descriptions

The Library receives approximately 40% of all publications made available through the Federal Depository Library Program. Current holdings vary in format: books, papers, microfiche, CD-ROMs, diskettes, and online services. Although the Library receives less than half of all publications, it does have access to documents available outside the Library through online access, the Internet, or Interlibrary Loan.

The Library selects extensively in the following areas due to University programs and regional location: Some of the more popular collections include maps, journals, census information, and ERIC documents. All government publications are located on Level 2 of the Library, with the exception of materials in electronic format which are in the Media Center on Level 1 and the Water Center.

A complete listing of materials available in the Library may be accessed using the MARCIVE CD-ROM located in the reference area. A user guide is available at the Information Desk. You may also contact the Department office at 931-372-6105 for information.
