There are two approaches to uploading a PowerPoint presentation to
WebCT. The simpler approach is given here. This approach assumes
that your audience has access to PowerPoint, such as in the PC Labs, or a
PowerPoint reader through their web browser.
-
Create a folder to save your work in, for example ENGL2230
-
Create your presentation in PowerPoint and save it to this folder.
-
Open FrontPage in the PC Labs or any other web page creation program you
use.
In the PC Labs: Start > All Programs > MS Office > FrontPage
-
The program will open with a blank page.
-
From the menu, select File > Save As
Name the file exactly: index.html and save it into your folder.
NOTE: This file must be named
index.html
for it to function in WebCT.
-
Type the title of your presentation, your name and any other general information
that your instructor asks to be included.
|
- Highlight the title of your presentation and right-click.
- From the popup menu, select Hyperlink
|
 |
- Browse to locate your PowerPoint presentation in your folder.
- Select it as the link address.
- Click OK.
|
-
Right-click in the open area on your page.
-
Select Page Properties from the popup
menu.
|

|
-
Under the General tab, type an appropriate title.
Tip: This is the title that will appear in the list of presentations
for your class in WebCT.
|

|
-
Save the FrontPage file, index.html and close FrontPage.
|
- Log into WebCT
- Click on Student Presentations
- Your group is the one with the link Edit Files next to the
group name.
- Click on Edit Files
|
|
- In the menu bar to the right, select Upload
|
|
- Browse to locate your file index.html
- Click Upload
- Then browse again to locate your PowerPoint file
- Click Upload.
|
 |
- You must upload both your index.html file and your
filename.ppt file. If you added any pictures to your web page,
you must upload those too.
|
- Follow the bread crumbs and return to Presentation
- Click on the link to view your index page.
- Remember: The title displayed is the title of your web
page which you set in FrontPage Express.
- If you do not see a link, be sure your web page file was named
index.html and be sure that you have set a page title.
|

|
- Click on the link in the web page to view the PowerPoint
presentation.
