Beginning Fall 2008, students and faculty will be able to store documents on the U: drive and easily access this drive from the PC Labs, home, and offices.  You will be using your PC Lab account (student email account, faculty PC Lab account) to login.

Getting Started from Home

  • Open a web browser (Internet Explorer or Firefox required).
  • Go to http://files.tntech.edu
  • Login using your PC Lab username and password.
  • Note that the password is case sensitive.
  • Click OK.

To upload files:
  • Click on Upload

NOTE: Mac Users may need to archive or compress files first for some APPLE written applications, such as KeyNote.  A KeyNote file looks like one individual file, but is actually multiple underlying files.

To upload individual files:

  • Click Browse to locate the file
  • Click Add File to add additional files.
  • Click Start Upload to move the file to your storage area.

To easily upload folders and multiple files:

  • Click on Advanced Upload.  (Be sure you have Java 1.5 or higher or download it from the link).
  • Click Add Files and the selection dialog box appears (see below).
  • Navigate to the folder or file you want to copy.
  • Select the folder or file.
  • Click Open.
  • The files will appear in the Upload window.
  • Click Start Upload.

OR

  • Open Windows Explorer
  • Navigate to the files or folders you wish to upload.
  • Drag them to the Upload Window.
  • Click Start Upload.

  • Double click on a file to Open or Save it.

Macintosh users:

Some APPLE written applications, such as KeyNote, actually consist of multiple underlying files.  In order to successfully upload such files, right-click on the file(s) and select "Make archive" or "Compress" depending on the version of Mac OS you are running.  Then upload the compressed version of the file.

Getting Help

  • Click on Help in the menu bar at the top

  • Or in the dialog boxes, click on the ? symbol.
