QUALIFICATIONS:
Required: A bachelor's degree in computer science, management information systems, instructional technology, or related discipline, and two years of relevant experience. Demonstrated communications and interpersonal skills, organizational skills, and attention to details. Intensive technical knowledge of Mac OS X and Windows, application software (including word processing, spreadsheets, databases, Internet browsers, and email clients), multimedia equipment, instructional technology tools, and hardware.
Desired: Advanced degree, experience providing technical support in a higher education environment, experience managing OS X labs, experience in strategic planning for instructional technology, Mac certification, and knowledge of web design and maintenance.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
This position reports to the Academic Computing Support Manager. The Instructional Technology Specialist provides technology support to faculty, staff, and students, primarily in the College of Education; supervises student workers, provides technology purchase consultation; manages departmental labs within the College; assists faculty with instructional technology tools.
OTHER FUNCTIONS: Other duties as assigned.
SALARY AND BENEFITS:
Salary commensurate with qualifications. Benefits
include the accumulation of two vacation days per month and one sick leave
day per month, and thirteen (13) University holidays. Other benefits include
medical and life insurance (shared cost with the University), retirement,
optional 401k, and educational benefits.
