QUALIFICATIONS:
Required:Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in Business Administration with major in accounting. Five years advanced work experience including at least two years supervisory experience required. Experience with financial software and financial statement preparation.
Preferred:CPA certification and higher education experience. Experience with Banner Finance Software.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
The Director of Accounting is responsible for controlling operations of the finance system. The position is responsible for the fiscal year closing and financial statement preparation. Responsibilities also include directing and planning of the Accounts Payable’s processing of expenditures and tax reporting. The Director of Accounting is directly responsible for the daily activities of General Accounting and Data Entry as it relates to all journal entries, budget revisions, and disbursing of checks. Assists with preparation and maintenance of University budgets, performs supervisory duties, and evaluations. Reviews, prepares, and approves various reports and schedules and performs other related duties for the University as assigned. This may include providing support for and/or serving on University committees as appointed by the President.
SALARY AND BENEFITS:
Salary commensurate with experience (Administrative Pay Grade 11). Benefits
include the accumulation of two vacation days per month and one sick leave
day per month, and thirteen (13) University holidays. Other benefits include
medical and life insurance (shared cost with the University), retirement,
optional 401k, and educational benefits.
