QUALIFICATIONS:
Required:
Bachelor’s degree. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. A valid driver’s license and willingness to travel (both daytime and overnight). The successful candidate must possess excellent communication skills, a high level of energy and initiative, and a comprehensive understanding of computer systems and various software packages. Should be responsible and self-motivated and have the ability to convey an enthusiastic message about TTU.  Must be a self-starter with the ability to multi-task and effectively work independently as well as be a team player. 

Preferred:Master’s degree or experience in University Admissions. Writing, public speaking and public relations, marketing, or guidance and counseling courses.  Previous work with high school or college students is desirable. Ability to establish immediate rapport and to communicate effectively with prospective students, parents, and high school counselors.  Demonstration of ability to coordinate projects.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Serve as a member of the Admissions Office team managing a recruitment territory to assist in achieving enrollment goals for the University and report directly to the Director of Admissions.  Extensive travel (both daytime and overnight) to visit high schools and community colleges with a specific recruitment region in Tennessee.  Average four to six weeks of travel in the fall and two to four weeks in the spring).  Office responsibilities will include maintenance of a record system of high school and college visits, obligations related to the admission and registration of students and participation in various special events on campus.  Interview prospective students and their families visiting the campus and provide information concerning (but not limited to) admission requirements, transfer guidelines, general financial aid and scholarship information, residence life, and cost of attendance.  Provide support to prospects, visiting students, applicants, and admitted students by telephone, email, website, walk-in visits, and scheduled appointments.  Make presentations to small groups as well as larger visiting groups and in high school classroom settings.  Coordination of events and special functions of the office will also be required.

SALARY AND BENEFITS:
Salary commensurate with education and experience. Benefits include the accumulation of two vacation days per month and one sick leave day per month, and thirteen (13) University holidays. Other benefits include medical and life insurance (shared cost with the University), retirement, optional 401k, and educational benefits.
