Eligible upon hire for full-time faculty administrative, C&S staff. (Must be an employee on the first day of classes.) Faculty appointed for 1 year are eligible.  Regular part-time employees are not eligible. One course per term; no credit hour limit. 

Obligation: None.
Yes.  Can take undergraduate or graduate courses at any Tennessee public institution.  Must be a credit course, but may be audited.  Two terms during summer is acceptable or two different term courses (dates cannot overlap).

Employee Audit/
Non-credit Program

Must be a regular full-time or part-time employee for at least 6 months.
Six hours per term or two non-credit courses per term.

Obligation: None.

Yes - for credit courses.  Can take courses at any Tennessee public institution on a space-available basis.  Non-credit courses must be job-related.  Regular part-time employees receive a pro-rata portion of assistance based on percentage employed.

Faculty/Admin/
Professional Staff Tuition Reimbursement

Must be a regular full-time or part-time employee for at least 6 months.
Six hours per term except for summer study which has no limit.

Obligation: Must complete coursework with a passing grade to take subsequent courses.  Must be subsequently employed one month for each month of participation.

Yes.  Can take graduate or undergraduate courses at any public or private institution of higher education.   Course(s) must be for credit.  Regular part-time employees receive a pro-rata portion of assistance based on percentage employed.  Penalty if course(s) is dropped or unsuccessfully completed -- must pay for course of equal value before being eligible for this scholarship again.  Proof of payment or successful completion must be shown.

Clerical & Support Staff Maintenance Fee Payment Prgrm (Staff Scholarship)

Must be a regular full-time or part-time employee for at least 6 months.
Six hours per term.

Obligation: Must complete coursework with a passing grade to take subsequent courses.  

Yes.  Can take courses at any Tennessee public institution. Courses must be for credit.  Penalty if course(s) is dropped or unsuccessfully completed -- must pay for course of equal value before being eligible for another staff scholarship.  Proof of payment or successful completion must be shown.

Fee Discount for Spouse and Dependent Children of TTU Employees

Eligible upon hire for full-time faculty administrative, C&S staff. (Must be an employee on the first day of classes.)  Part-time regular employees (min. 50% employee) are eligible after one year.
Discount of up to 50% off of undergraduate fees & all mandatory student fees.  No credit hour limit.  Discount is pro-rated for part-time employees. 

Obligation: Must maintain satisfactory academic progress.

Yes.  Can be used at any TBR or UT system school. Course(s) must be for credit, but may be audited.  Course(s) taken must be  undergraduate (degrees held do not matter).  Regular part-time employees receive a pro-rata portion of assistance based on percentage employed.  Dependents are eligible thru age 26.
