How  New Students Apply to Grad School

This is your online application guide. The steps below explain the application process.

Step 1
 

Complete and mail the U.S. Application (PDF) for Graduate School admissions along with application fee $25 domestic students, $30 international students - or apply online.

* If you apply online you will still need to follow Steps 2 through 5 to complete the application process.

 
Step 2
 

Complete and mail 3 Letters of Recommendation (PDF)

*(The M.B.A. program only requires one letter of recommendation).

   
Step 3
 

Official transcripts: Bachelor's degree and any institutions attended since that time. Official transcripts are sent directly from the institution to Tennessee Tech, not submitted by the student. International students may submit attested transcripts. Official copies are to be sent directly to Office of Graduate School Admissions. (See address in Step 5)

 
Step 4
 

Student Health Form (PDF) Documentation required of 2 MMR vaccinations

College Official Test Score Reports
College of Arts and Sciences General Test of the Graduate Record Examination (GRE)
College of Business Administration Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT)
College of Education, Master's and Ed.S Miller Analogies Test (MAT) or
General Test of the Graduate Record Examination (GRE)
College of Education, Ph.D. GRE (General Test)
College of Engineering General Test of the Graduate Record Examination (GRE)
School of Nursing None
All International Students Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL)

The Counseling Center administers the following standardized tests for a fee:

  • Graduate Record Examination (GRE) - Subject Tests only
  • Miller Analogies Test (MAT)

Step 6
  Send materials and the $25 application fee to:

Once all materials have been received, the application file will be evaluated for admission. This is completed by the individual departments (with the exception of the M.A. and Ed.S. programs in Counseling and Psychology, Curriculum and Instruction, and Instructional Leadership where the Graduate School performs the evaluation).

After an admission recommendation is made, the Graduate School will notify the student.
