Initial Eligibility:
Q. Do I have to use ACT
or SAT scores from the same test date?
A. Yes. You cannot
take individual test scores and add them together to get a higher
composite score.
Q. How is my High School
GPA calculated for the lottery?
A. Currently the
High School GPA used for lottery scholarship eligibility is an un-weighted
score.
This means that honors classes do not add additional points to your
GPA. Each class has an equal value.
For the year 2005 and beyond, classes may be weighted
for the GAM award only.
Q. What is the difference
between an eligible high school and an ineligible high school?

is considered an eligible high school if it:
Q. Why is my high school GPA for the
Tennessee Education Lottery Scholarship (TELS) different from my
high school transcript?
A. We are required to use an
un-weighted high school GPA. Many high schools only have a weighted
GPA. These were the GPAs sent to TSAC. High school GPAs have been
recalculated in Admissions to reflect an un-weighted GPA as required
by the rules and regulations.
Q. What if I think the High School
GPA for my lottery eligibility is incorrect?
A. Contact admissions and request
your GPA be recalculated and posted.
