| Information on New Lottery Rules
Recent changes to the Tennessee Education Lottery Scholarship program now allow a lottery recipient to use a higher grade to replace a lower grade for the same course in order to raise the lottery grade point average. This is allowed one time for one course for the duration of the lottery scholarship. The student is responsible for choosing the course to use for the one time repeat and for completing the required paperwork including filing a repeat card in the Records Office.
For a student who has already repeated a course and wishes to replace a lower grade with a higher grade, the student must complete a request form and send to the Lottery Scholarship Coordinator, Adriane King, in Financial Aid, Roaden University Center. Please allow 1-3 days for the change to take place. If the recalculation of the grade point average changes the eligibility status for the student, the student can again receive lottery funds when the next benchmark is reached.
Another change made allows a student to regain the lottery scholarship at a later benchmark if the cumulative lottery gpa is at least a 3.0. This only applies to a student who lost the scholarship due to the grade point average requirements, and does not apply to a student who changed enrollment status or withdrew from a University. After the student reaches the next benchmark and has at least the 3.0, the student should complete a form for reinstatement and send to the Lottery Scholarship Coordinator.
A student can check the benchmark status and lottery grade point average on Eagle online under the Tennessee Lottery Information link. The forms for recalculation and reinstatement are available in the Financial Aid office and will be available on our TTU lottery web site at www.tntech.edu/financialaid/lottery. |
