| **Faculty members eligible for tenure proceedings before the sixth year should follow the 6th year tenure evaluation dates. For faculty members under the previous promotion and tenure policy, if tenure should be denied, the peers could extend the probationary period through the sixth year and permit a second application for tenure. In that case, the candidate would receive notification of the "Administrative Renewal Decision" by the end of the academic year during which tenure was denied. This option of extending the probationary period and permitting a second tenure application is not available for faculty under the new - i.e. current - policy. |
