Graduates in World Cultures
and Business will enter the “global marketplace” with
an understanding of the financial and economic ramifications of
business and with an awareness of cultural diversity.
These individuals
will be prepared to pursue careers in companies with interests that
will be active participants in the evolving international environment
of business.
STUDY ABROAD
The
Magellan Exchange Program
A new exchange
program is available for students who wish to satisfy part of their
graduation requirements by attending any one of eight member schools
of business in Europe. There is no difference in tuition, and the
overall costs of living per semester are comparable to that of Cookeville.
PLACEMENT OPPORTUNITIES
Job opportunities
for graduates of this program abound. In the expanding environments
of world trade, career paths are innumerable. Recent graduates of
the World Cultures and Business program have found jobs in Nashville,
Memphis, Atlanta, port cities, and international locales.

The national average yearly salary for students graduating in the
curriculum of World Cultures and Business is $33,892. Salaries my

WHAT IS WORLD CULTURES AND BUSINESS?
This program is designed to prepare the student for the arena of
international business by emphasizing the study of foreign languages
and international cultures, as well as international business environments
and the global institutions and processes that govern them. You
will also reap the benefits from a broad liberal arts education.
The flexibility of the program allows a more specialized area of
interest and incorporates a social science minor.

This newest organization in the College of Business is open to all
TTU students interested in international business and the trend
toward globalization of world markets. The member of this organization
will assist with the annual Windows on the World festival. Other
activities include field trips to local multinational corporations
and the coordination of presentations from distinguished lecturers
from multinational corporations.
