Playing with Fire: An Intro to Glass Bead Making

Learn to tame molten glass over an open flame and create your own original treasures. Cover safety, proper studio set-up, annealing, and the proper use of tools and equipment. Begin with creating good base beads and explore surface design techniques including: dots, twisties, precious metals, and more! Beginning; Materials Fee $25, payable to instructor

Hollow & Sculptural Glass Beads

Move beyond the basics of glass beadmaking and create hollow beads, shape them into amphora, make hollow and core-wound vessels, and explore other sculptural shapes over the torch. Intermediate; Materials Fee $25; payable to instructor

work is featured in galleries throughout the southeast and in several beadmaking books. She is a member of the Southern Highland Craft Guild, Piedmont Craftsmen, TACA, and Foothills Craft Guild.

Getting Started in Stained Glass
