The Appalachian Center for Craft provides educational outreach programs to more than 3,500 children in the Upper Cumberland region each year. Outreach programs host students in the Craft Center facilities for lecture/demonstrations and hands-on projects in the studios.

Support the Craft Center's educational outreach programs and attend the 10th Annual Celebration of Craft on Saturday, April 5th, 2008, from 10am-5pm central. FREE Admission.

Hands-on Art/Craft Experience for Elementary School Students (6th grade)
This program brings over 1,000 sixth graders to the Craft Center on Fridays each fall.

The students experience demonstrations and hands-on projects in clay mask making, enameling on copper, and color theory/paper marbling.

Focus on Fine Craft Program
(7th -12th grades)

This program brings over 600 7th -12th graders to the Craft Center on Fridays in the spring semester.

These students select from seven intensive 3.5 hour craft workshops including: wheel thrown ceramics, glass etching & sandblasting, copper fabrication, glass bead making, enameling on copper, woodturning, and Japanese shibori/tie-dye.
