Upcoming Seminar on Industrial Use of Compressed Air
Dr. Glenn Cunningham, Associate Professor of Mechanical Engineering at Tennessee Tech University, will conduct a seminar on issues relating to compressed air. Many industrial energy efficiency improvement opportunities involve routine technologies that quickly pay for themselves through the savings they generate. As energy prices rise, the payback becomes even more financially attractive. Industry’s near-term energy savings will come from “Best Practices” applied to existing energy systems.

Participants will receive an overview of:

  • Cost of compressed air
  • Types of air compressors and their selection and sizing
  • Air receivers and storage
  • Controls
  • Air treatment
  • Minimizing pressure drops
  • Compressed air leaks
  • Inappropriate use of compressed air
  • Improving performance at industrial facilities

The workshop is designed for industrial energy managers, facility managers, plant managers, equipment distributors, and engineering consultants. All industry and business leaders and guests are invited to attend free of charge.
