Mission

The mission of the Child Development Laboratory is to enhance the growth and development of the child to his/her greatest potentials; provide a structure for family support; provide students with opportunities to observe, conduct research, plan and implement developmentally appropriate curriculum in inclusive settings; disseminate information to families; and to contribute to the knowledge base and expertise of child care providers in the Upper Cumberland and across the State.

Philosophy
The Child Development Laboratory strongly believes that the young child learns best through direct experiences with his/her world and through interaction with other children and supportive adults. Therefore our program provides a multitude of play and social opportunities through which each child is guided toward his or her optimal developmental level. We seek to create an inclusive environment that values all individuals regardless of ability, cultural, racial, or socioeconomic differences.
