Q: I have an account on TTUMIS, but I need to send mail to someone who only has an account on Gemini. Do I need an account on Gemini to send mail to that person?

A: No. It is very simple to send mail from TTUMIS to Gemini, and vice versa.

If you have an account on node TTUMIS, you send mail to someone on Gemini by prefacing his/her username with TTU::

       Example:
       MAIL> send
       To:   ttu::dwm3387
       

If you have an account on node Gemini, you can send mail to a TTUMIS user by prefacing the username with TTUMIS::

       Example:
       MAIL> send
       To:   ttumis::jqu1234
       

It is not currently possible to look up usernames across nodes, so you will need to call your intended recipient and ask for his/her username.
