The Horn Studio at Tennessee Technological University

Jeremy Hansen is the newest member of the Brass Faculty at TTU and takes over from our new department chair Arthur LaBar who was instructor of the horn studio from 1979 to 2006. In that time, TTU horn
players, as students, have achieved the following major accomplishments:
- three finalists at International Horn Society competitions
- won the university's highest performance prize, the Joan Derryberry Award
- soloist with the Maryville-Alcoa College Community Orchestra
- member of Monterrey (Mexico) Symphony Orchestra
- member of pit orchestra at Cumberland County Playhouse
- performed with Knoxville Symphony Orchestra
TTU horn student alumni have performed or now perform as:
- Member, Chicago Civic Orchestra
- Assistant conductor, Metropolitan Opera Company, New York City
- Principal horn, Memphis Symphony Orchestra
- Numerous high school, junior high, and elementary teachers and band directors
- Admissions manager, Eastern Music Festival
- Horn professor at William Patterson University (New Jersey), Northeastern

- Advertising agent, International Horn Society

Jeremy Hansen is horn professor and a member of the Cumberland Quintet as well as principal horn in the Bryan Symphony at TTU.
Greg Danner is the hornist with the Brass Arts Quintet, and 3rd horn in the Bryan Symphony at TTU. He is a former member of orchestras in Louisiana and Missouri. His teachers include Verne Reynolds, Milan Yancich, and Roland Pandolfi. Dr. Danner has also won several distinguished awards as a composer.
