Alumni
Special Events
- Tennessee Tech Tuba Ensemble alumni and friends
from across the country returned to Cookeville for the TTTE 40th
Anniversary Celebration and Reunion.
- Weekend activities included an open house at Tech Professor
and TTTE Director Winston Morris's home, a banquet and program,
and performances by the TTTE All-Star Alumni Ensemble, the current
Tennessee Tech Tuba Ensemble, and "Tubas of Mass Destruction"
-- composed of all TTTE alumni and current students.
- The TTTE 40th Anniversary All-Star Alumni Ensemble presented
a number of compositions commissioned specifically for the ensemble.
A recording will be released in the near future. For purchasing
information for this and other TTTE recordings, visit http://orgs.tntech.edu/tuba/.
- Several presentations were made at the banquet,
in addition to comments from former students, fellow professors
and mentors, and the owner of Mark Custom Recording Service --
the recording company for the TTTE.
- The weekend closed with an informal gathering at Spankies Restaurant
on Sunday night.
To find more about upcoming TTU alumni events in your
area, go to: http://calendar.tntech.edu
and then "Alumni Special Events." You can then see events
we have scheduled by week, month, or year. You may also check the
calendars of other departments (athletics, your college, etc.),
or see the master calendar for the entire university.
We are focusing our efforts on holding alumni events
in cities where we have large numbers of alumni. We now average
eight off-campus events per year in areas like San Francisco, Atlanta,
Dallas, Houston, Huntsville, Chattanooga, Nashville, and more.
If you live in an area where you know there are other
TTU alums and would like to help us put together an event in your
town, please feel free to call us at (800) 889.8730, or e-mail alumni@tntech.edu. |
