1. A minimum donation to the arboretum of $100 will be accepted
to select an existing tree as a memorial.
2. A minimum donation to the arboretum of $150 will be accepted
to purchase and install a new tree as a memorial. Space is becoming
limited for large trees, however.
3. A minimum donation to the arboretum of $55 will be accepted
from professional landscapers who may wish to purchase and install
their own trees. The arboretum manager will select the sites
and supervise installation.
A list of suggested tree species will be made available to
donors to assist with their choice, but specific trees may be
requested. This list may be modified at any time. It is intended
that no more than three or four specimens shall already exist
on campus.
The actual specimen tree must be approved in advance, preferably
selected by the arboretum manager. Minimum acceptable
tree specifications are: a firmly attached root ball
and/or healthy root system, a healthy trunk with good taper
and no unhealed wounds, a single central leader present unless
specifically undesirable, no weak or split crotches, a healthy
crown and shape, and no mechanical or pest damage.
Shrubs
1. A minimum donation of $40 will be accepted to select an
existing specimen shrub as a memorial.
2. A minimum donation of $55 will be accepted to purchase and
install a new shrub as a memorial.
