Below is a list of all the Agriculture Scholarships

Rose Scholar Scholarship
(Maintenance fees, housing allowance, book stipend – approximately
$10,000 per year)
Preference given to AGBE or AGED major who has served as or is
a state officer in FFA. (Other criteria listed if no student qualifies
under the guidance for major and state officer). Preference given
to superior academic record, excellent overall leadership record,
and native of Upper Cumberland. Student may continue to receive
the same scholarship if they maintain a 3.0.
W. Clyde and Marie Hyder Scholarships - $1,000 - $2,500
The scholarship committee, in selecting recipients, will consider financial need, but shall not make it a mandatory condition for eligibility. The recipient must be a prospective or current student in good standing in accordance with current institutional policies. He or she must be a prospective or full-time student enrolled in the School who is pursuing a bachelor’s degree. He or she must, if an entering freshman, receive a letter of recommendation from his/her high school principal and the vocational agriculture instructor if applicable.
Ag Foundation W. Clyde Hyder Scholarship – $2,000
This scholarship will be awarded to a student with a minimum of 89 semester hours who has achieved the highest GPA in the School of Agriculture at the time of selection. He or she should plan to be enrolled for two additional semesters.
Tennessee Farmers Cooperative
Scholarships - (five at $1,500 each)
Criteria for selection include the following requirements:
(a) 80% of recipients shall be sophomors, juniors or seniors
(b) the recipient shall be majoring in a discipline or program
administered by the Department of Agriculture
(c) the recipient must have a grade point average of 2.5 or
greater
(d) the recipient’s family must be a member of a local
member cooperative that is part of the Tennessee Farmers Co-Op
system.
Tech Garden Club/Ruby Marson Scholarship - (two at $1,000)
Recipient must have at least 2.5 overall GPA and a 3.0 GPA in all agriculture courses. Candidate should be a senior, but may be a junior who will have senior standing at the beginning of Spring semester and must plan on completing a degree in Horticulture or Nursery/Landscape Management. Selection Committee should also take into consideration any work scholarships held by the candidate, his or her financial need and other scholarships/awards awarded to the candidate.
James and Mevolyn Haston Agriculture Scholarship
- $1,000-$1,500
The recipient must be a prospective or current student in good
standing in accordance with current institutional policies. Must
major in Agriculture. Preference should be given to students from
Van Buren County. If there are no eligible students from this
county, any student will be eligible.
Major Shipley Scholarships - (four
at $1,000 each)
Awards shall be made on the basis of need and academic performance.
Preference will be given to students from Tennessee.
Charles and Ruth Golden Scholarship
- $1,000
For incoming freshman from White County High School. Requires
principals recommendation
Ag Foundation Work Scholarships
- $500, $750 or $1,000
Need shall be a factor and the recipients will assist a faculty
member for onehour for every $10 of scholarship funds awarded
to them. The student would work 50 hours in the Fall and 50 hours
in the Spring for a $1,000 scholarship.
Farm Credit Services Scholarship - $1,000
Scholarships are to be awarded to students who are incoming or current students. They are to be in their freshman, sophomore or junior years. They are to be from one of the counties served by Farm Credit Services. The recipient will be evaluated as to character, leadership ability, financial need and scholastic achievement.
John Hendrix Scholarship - $1,000
The recipient must be a current student in good standing in accordance
with current institutional policies who is a junior or senior
enrolled in and pursuing a degree within the School of Agriculture.
The recipient must be from one of the following Tennessee counties:
Cannon, Clay, Coffee, DeKalb, Fentress, Jackson, Macon, Overton,
Pickett, Putnam, Rutherford, Smith, Trousdale, Van Buren, Warren,
White, or Wilson or from Powell High School in Knoxville or from
the Model Laboratory School in Richmond, Kentucky. Selection should
be based on financial need and academic achievement (approximately
50% each).
The Humane Society of Putnam County Scholarship
- $1,000
The recipient must be a current student who has completed his/her
sophomore or junior year and is in good standing in accordance
with current university policy. The recipient must be a full-time
student enrolled in the School of Agriculture with a concentration
in either Pre-Veterinary Science or Animal Science. The recipient
must be a graduate of a Putnam County high school.
Dr. Sherlie West/York Institute Scholarship - $1,000
Awarded to a graduate of York Institute after successfully completing a year at TTU majoring in Agriculture.
Rehabilitation Corporation of Tennessee – (three at $800)
Assigned to students on the basis of need, effort, and the student’s serious intention toward his or her work. Must be a citizen of Tennessee from a rural area with an agricultural background and in need of outside financial help to enter or remain in college. The student shall be deserving of a scholarship and worthy of financial assistance. The student may be in any year of his or her academic work. The same student may receive a scholarship for a subsequent year.
Gerald D. Coorts Memorial Scholarship
- $750
Awarded to a student majoring in Horticulture or Nursery/Landscape
Management.
Tommy Burks Scholarship - $750
Awarded to incoming freshman from the district Senator Tommy
Burks represented: Putnam, DeKalb, Cannon, Coffee, Pickett, Clay,
Macon, Smith, Trousdale, White, Overton, and Jackson counties.
Must have had involvement in high school activities such as 4-H,
FFA, athletic teams, or organized school clubs. Financial need
may be a consideration.
Clark Farms Scholarship - $500
The recipient must be a prospective or current student majoring
in Agriculture in good standing in accordance with current institutional
policies.
Dr. Edwin E. Lamberth Scholarship -
$500
Awarded to a prospective or current student in good standing
enrolled in a course of study leading to a degree in Agriculture
with first preference for students enrolled in Ag. Education.
May retain the scholarship for up to 8 semesters provided he/she
continues to make satisfactory progress.
Funk Award - $500
The recipient shall be a student majoring in Horticulture or
Nursery/Landscape Management. Selections will be made on the basis
of scholarship, need and interest in the plant field.
Mabel Smith Scholarship
- $500
The recipient shall be a current sophomore, junior, or senior
majoring in NLMT or HORT with minimum GPA of 2.75
Macon County Farm Bureau - $500
The recipient must be a member or a child of a member of the
Macon County Farm Bureau. Prefer incoming freshman. A student
can only receive the award once.
Putnam County Farm Bureau - $500
The recipient must be a member or a child of a member of the
Putnam County Farm Bureau. First choice should go to an incoming
freshman.
Scott Memorial Scholarship - $500
Recipient must have farm experience and be from the Upper Cumberland
– Cannon, Clay, Cumberland, DeKalb, Fentress, Jackson, Macon,
Overton, Pickett, Putnam, Smith, Van Buren, Warren, or White County.
Tennessee Council of Cooperatives -
$500
Awarded to a student in his or her junior year who is a resident
of Tennessee and has at least a 2.5 overall GPA.
C. Cooper and Rachel King Agronomy Scholarship
- $500
Student must be majoring in Agronomy-Crops.
Dr. Sumner Griffin Agriculture Award
- $500
To be awarded to a senior at the Agriculture Award Banquet. The
recipient must be a senior agriculture major in good standing.
Huddleston Agricultural Academic Award
- $300
Awarded to the rising junior with the highest overall GPA who
has completed between 45 and 72 semester hours at the end of Fall
semester.
Agriscience Academic Bowl Scholarships
Scholarships in the amount of $500 and $250 awarded to the first
place and second place team. Funded by the Agricultural Foundation
for T.T.U.
People’s Bank and Trust/ Ag Foundation
Matching Scholarship - $500
For incoming freshmen from Picket County High School.
