2.12 Taking of Courses Outside the Scholarship Programs 

2.12.1 Administrative, Clerical and Support Personnel 

2.12.1.1 Course During Normal Working Hours 

Courses may be taken during normal working hours without use of annual leave and alteration of normal working hours only if the following conditions are met: 

A. The course taken must be job-related. 

B. The supervisor has requested that the individual take the course. 

2.12.1.2 Written Request 

Should the University request that the individual take the course, such request should be in writing and a copy sent to Human Resource Services Office for inclusion in the employee's personnel file. 

2.12.1.3 Use of Annual Leave or Alteration of Normal Working Hours 

At the request of the employee and upon approval of the supervisor, an employee may take courses during normal working hours by using annual leave or altering normal working hours. 

2.12.2 Faculty Courses taken by faculty should be scheduled so as not to interfere with their assigned University responsibilities.
